Luxury Newborn Photographer
Serving Central California
There is nothing quite like the first days with your baby.
Tiny fingers wrapped around yours. Sleepy stretches. Soft little sighs as they rest peacefully in your arms. Before long, these tiny details begin to change, often before you've had time to slow down and take them all in.
My newborn sessions are thoughtfully designed to preserve this remarkable season through timeless portraiture and heirloom artwork, creating lasting reminders of the beginning of your child's story.
Timeless Newborn Portraiture

The newborn days move quickly and softly, and I photograph them so families can hold onto the feeling of this season long after it has passed.

A Newborn Experience Designed Around Your Family
The first weeks with a new baby are beautiful, emotional, and often wonderfully unpredictable. That's why every newborn session is designed to move at your baby's pace.
Whether your little one needs extra cuddles, a feeding break, or simply more time to settle, we'll follow their lead. From styling your session and gently posing your baby to creating finished artwork for your home, every detail is thoughtfully planned so you can relax and simply enjoy this fleeting season.

your baby's first portraits

Newborn sessions are typically reserved during pregnancy, as the ideal time to photograph your baby is within the first two weeks after birth. Sessions take place in my studio, where parents are gently guided and your baby’s needs always lead.

These Moments Won't Last Forever

Before long, your newborn's tiny fingers will grow, sleepy stretches will become first smiles, and these first precious days will become cherished memories. Preserve them with a portrait experience designed to celebrate the beginning of your child's story.
Whether you're expecting or your baby has already arrived, I'd love to help you create artwork your family will treasure for generations.
Planning Your Newborn Experience
A new baby comes with plenty of questions, and choosing the right newborn photographer is an important decision. Here are answers to some of the questions I'm asked most often by families throughout Central California.
When should I book my newborn session?
The best time to reserve your newborn session is during your pregnancy, ideally during your second trimester. I reserve a limited number of due dates each month so I can accommodate babies whenever they decide to arrive.
Once your baby is born, you'll simply let me know, and we'll schedule your session within the ideal timeframe.
How old should my baby be for newborn portraits?
For those sleepy, curled-up newborn portraits, I recommend photographing babies when they are 3 to 12 days old. During this stage, babies tend to sleep more deeply and naturally curl into the poses many parents love.
If your baby is older, don't worry. Beautiful newborn portraits are still possible, and I'll customize your session based on your baby's age and comfort.
Is newborn photography safe?
Absolutely. Your baby's safety is my highest priority.
I'm an Advanced Certified Newborn Photographer (ANP®) with more than a decade of experience photographing newborns. Every pose is done slowly and gently, following your baby's cues throughout the session.
If your baby needs to be fed, cuddled, or comforted, we simply pause. There is never any rush, and your baby's comfort always comes first.
What if my baby won't sleep?
Every baby is different, and it's completely normal for newborns to wake, feed, or need extra cuddles during their session. With more than a decade of experience and advanced newborn safety training, I work at your baby's pace rather than trying to fit them into a strict schedule. Sessions are intentionally unhurried, allowing plenty of time for feeding, comforting, and soothing. Some of the sweetest portraits happen when we simply follow your baby's lead.
What should I bring to my newborn session?
You don't need to bring much at all.
I provide the wraps, blankets, outfits, and styling for your baby's portraits. I simply recommend bringing diapers, bottles if you bottle feed, a pacifier if your baby uses one, and anything else that helps soothe your little one.
Many parents are surprised by how relaxing the session feels because everything has already been prepared for them.
Can parents and siblings be included?
Absolutely.
Family portraits are one of the most meaningful parts of a newborn session. I'll photograph your new baby individually, then create timeless portraits with parents, siblings, and the entire family together.
These images often become the ones families choose for wall art and heirloom albums because they capture the beginning of a new chapter together.
What should we wear for family portraits?
Simple, timeless clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your family's connection.
I recommend soft neutral tones, coordinating colors, and clothing without large logos or busy patterns. Before your session, I'll provide guidance to help everyone choose outfits that complement one another and create a cohesive look.
Moms are also welcome to wear gowns from my client closet, and I also have a small collection of shirts for men in neutral colors as well as limited outfits for toddlers & children.
Do you provide the wraps, props, and outfits?
Yes. My studio is fully stocked with carefully selected wraps, blankets, bonnets, headbands, tiny outfits, baskets, beds, and timeless props that are designed specifically for newborn photography.
Before your session, we'll discuss your style preferences and color palette so everything is prepared before you arrive.
What if my baby spends time in the NICU?
Every family's journey is different.
If your baby needs extra care after birth or spends time in the NICU, your portrait session may simply be postponed until your baby is ready. Once your pediatrician feels your little one is healthy enough for portraits, we'll work together to find the right time.
How much do newborn portraits cost?
Your newborn session fee reserves your due date and includes your planning consultation and portrait session.
Afterward, you'll choose the artwork that best fits your family and home. Most clients invest between $1,500 and $5,000 in heirloom albums, custom wall art, archival prints, and digital images.
Should I book my maternity and newborn sessions together?
If you're still expecting, I highly recommend reserving both sessions at the same time.
Planning ahead ensures availability around your due date and allows us to create a beautiful collection documenting your journey from pregnancy through your baby's first days. Many families love displaying their maternity and newborn portraits together as one story.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
Babies have a way of making their own plans, and that's exactly why I reserve your due date, not a specific session date.
Once your baby arrives, simply let me know within the first day or two, and we'll choose the best session date based on your baby's birth and how everyone is doing. This flexible scheduling allows us to photograph your little one during the ideal newborn stage while giving your family time to settle in.
What happens after our newborn session?
After your session, I'll carefully hand-edit each portrait before inviting you back for your ordering appointment.
Together, we'll view your gallery for the first time and design artwork specifically for your home. Whether you envision a handcrafted heirloom album, a statement wall gallery, or beautifully framed portraits, I'll help you choose pieces that will become part of your family's legacy.
How long does a newborn session last?
Every baby is different, so I don't rush the process.
Most newborn sessions last 2 to 4 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and capturing a variety of poses without placing unnecessary stress on your baby.
What makes a professional newborn photographer different?
Newborn photography requires far more than knowing how to use a camera.
Look for a photographer with specialized newborn training, experience handling and posing infants safely, consistent results across full galleries, and a style that reflects how you want to remember this season. It's also worth considering whether they provide guidance throughout the experience, from planning and styling to designing artwork for your home.
Choosing the right newborn photographer means investing in both your baby's safety and portraits your family will treasure for generations.
Why are newborn portraits so important?
The newborn stage passes in the blink of an eye. Tiny fingers, sleepy stretches, delicate eyelashes, and the way your baby fit perfectly in your arms change far more quickly than most parents expect.
Professional newborn portraits preserve those details before they're gone. Years from now, these images become more than photographs. They become a reminder of the first days you met your child and the beginning of a story your family will cherish for generations.
